Practical guides to exporting goods from China.
DDP Shipping, Shipping from China
A DDP rate to Canada covers more than the ocean leg. Here is what to check in the price, how sea and air compare against your deadline, and when consolidating several suppliers into one shipment pays for itself.
Air Freight, Shipping from China
Air freight is priced on weight, quoted on scope, and settled by the charges that show up at the destination airport. How to read the number before you book.
Freight Forwarding, Shipping from China
The supplier finishes production, sends photos of the cartons and asks who is collecting. Here is what to settle with a forwarder before the first order moves, from the quote scope to the name on the customs entry.
Air Freight, Shipping from China
The per-kilo rate is only one of the numbers on an air quote. Here is how chargeable weight is worked out, which charges belong on the quote, and why the short Australia lane makes air a harder sell than it is to Europe.
DDP Shipping, Shipping from China

Rail Freight, Shipping from China
Rail sits between a sea container that takes weeks and an air booking that costs far more per kilo. Here is how to tell whether your cargo belongs on the train, and what a rail quote has to include before you can compare it with anything.
